  • Any band members here need advice on makeshift stage

Well it seems we're planning a block party. There's a family with 4 member band that will play but needs a stage. I've got a 16' (or 18') landscape trailer that I'd be happy to offer up but it has a tube railing about 18" high around three sides. Thinking this would be dangerous... So is there a way to build solid stage on top of rail with maybe 2x6s or scaffolding? Would this be big enough for 4 member band? I know I'd have to block corners of trailer to eliminate wobble from suspension. Thinking I could use the 2x6s to replace decking afterwards as existing is starting to show some wear and tear...

Host the party/concert in your backyard with the band on your deck. Raised stage, everyone can see and hear.

Grab maybe 4 pallets from any big box store yard, plywood them then slap up a simple 2x6 railing nice n affordable. On your trailer I meant

Flat bed tractor trailer is a classic. You can always stack more than one and then bolt them together with some temporary studs so they do not move.
Even two different levels can be joined with some steps. It all depends on how big the band is. They also need to be well supported in the corners obviously.
For the backing it depends on where you are and if you want to see the natural backing or even if they need to be covered or not due to weather.
Look for rentals. Some they have everything ready to go.

        Red neck stage

        Metro-trendy stage...

          Here another example...
The average flat bed will accommodate 3 to 4 but it really depends on the instruments they have and not
          the band count.

I saw U2 play squeezed into a tiny corner of a way too small place. Ramones too. Where there's a will...

I saw Ramones in a local college cafeteria once. Great band. I think they're all dead.

This is pretty much what I'm talking about except I have a railing around the perimeter of the trailer. Wondering if I could put a temporary platform on top of the railing and if that would be safe...

I have the same sortta landscape trailer sorta but 14x10, those "railings" are only supported by the several vertical steel brace arms. I would worry with too many peeps having a good time they might fail. But if you 2x4 the corners and center then platform it, you've got what you originally wanted lol

Yeah definitely would support center. The outside is pretty solid. This is the trailer.
