You would like a sled shelter better than a standard shelter as they setup much quicker and easier. I wouldn't trade your 10/22 for that he's offering. If the shelter was newer, and of one of the sled designs, then it might be a better deal. I'd take up thughes's hand me down equipment. It's a better deal imho! ;-)

Hello everyone,
I know I am early on this but wanted to see if anyone is starting to stock up on lures and getting there stuff ready to go ice fishing this winter,I am still undecided what I want to use for a rod and reel to ice fish with, when I use to ice fish it was the old fashion way and that was just using a rod with out a reel, but I am thinking I want to try a reel this time,my main concern is having a reel that will not freeze up if there is one out there, the other main concern is the rod and line freezing up,I know I need to find a rod that has bigger eyes on it this way when you reel in your line it will not have time for any ice to build up around the eyes,so if you guys/gals have any suggestions on a rod/reel this would be great.
I am also going to be looking for some new lures for ice fishing so if you know of any good place around you that I can order any these ice fishing jigs please post links to these places.I found most of these on Ebay but want to see if anyone here in NY has a place around them that sells them first..
These are the type of jigs I used when I ice fish a long time ago and they worked awesome so I like to stay with these types and also some hair jigs also, what I used to do is buy maggots and would place 1 to 2 maggots on my lure and the fish would just go crazy..
I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

CS Ice fishing is pretty fun as long as you dress for it and keep warm unless you plan on doing most of you ice fishing from a shanty.I am actually going to be building a shanty to fish in this year..I be building a 5x8 shanty to fish out of..I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

I know it is early let but is anyone else starting to get any stuff that they need to go ice fishing this winter?..I still need to get a few things yet such as a rod and reel,I really want to get a Power Auger if I can as it be easier on my back vs using a hand auger..I have already started getting some of my ice fishing jigs,I also already have my Ice Armor Coat and Bibs suit along with the gloves that I got back a couple years ago, this was the best suit I have ever bought when it comes to extreme cold condition, you can wear just your under wear in it and your toasty warm..
