Rep. Lee Zeldin was attacked. He's also running for Governor. From what I heard he was talking about bail reform on his campaign stop. Naturally his attacker will benefit from the bail reform and only be issued an appearance ticket. My understanding is that the attacker is getting charged with 2nd degree assault.

The interwebs are saying the attacker served as a 'blood supply specialist' while in the military. Haven't seen any other details yet. It was kind of weird how slowly he approached Zeldin.
Part of me can't help but wonder if this was a publicity stunt by Zeldin. On the flip side, a publicity stunt probably wouldn't have involved the use of hello kitty knuckles. It's all a little too weird to be staged.NRA Life Member
