    Firearm safety with crossbows.

    Want to say thank you to Chicken Shoot for sending me cobra mini crossbow. Thing is addictive and fun.

    Luckily I followed safety rules last night though. I was in my basement shooting at foam with plywood backing . As soon as I put bolt on rail I make sure its facing safe direction.

    Well I had it pointing "down range" and removed the safety and the thing went off! Went through some other foam I had next to target and into my wall. I haven't been able to repeat it and I know my finger was not on trigger.

    Just thought I would share my recent experience why its important to follow safety rules .

    Almost thinking maybe I didn't cock it all the way ?

    From the most current Amazon review: "TAKE EXTRA CAUTION... When you place an arrow on this thing if you press the safety release to hard forward you can fire this thing. I'm sure it's some kind of design flaw but you could end up shooting someone if you're not paying attention."

        Seems to be a known issue with the safety: "This crossbow is fun. It keeps my husband entertained and I enjoy shooting it too. The only problem, besides the holes in our bedroom door do to someone forgetting to aim, are the holes in the ceiling from the times the safety decides to act as the trigger when being turned off. Be careful and ease the safety off while pointing it somewhere safe."

            Lmao ..... Maybe, but following simple safety rules saved anyone from injury. Good to know I guess it wasn't just me.

                You bastard!!! LOL I've never had that issue usmc mentioned. I would have to say that it was probably exactly what he stated where it wasn't fully cocked. Once it is cocked, the safety is engaged and I've tried to duplicate that happening on mine. I can't get it to do that. USMC just showed us that responsible gun owners are the safest people on earth .... they apparently also have holes in their walls from firing weapons in the house!! I told you it's addicting man!!! Time for you to buy a new Parker crossbow!! (It won't be long before he does!!) Hahahaha Glad you didn't get hurt. I was alittle skeptical of sending that to you because it did say use under adult supervision. Bahahahahaha

                  That was for the 120lb crossbow!! LOL Not the 80lb pistol. I'm shooting mine now in the store. Nice big target to shoot at and alllllll the targets I want are here!!! Zombie killing time!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm trying to duplicate this firing of the crossbow by pushing too hard on the safety like stated in that one review. Not getting it to release. Hmmm ..... maybe we should have started usmc out with a squirt gun. Hahahaha I'm thinking that those that have had this happen didn't have it cocked 100%. That does seem very possible. Thughes ..... you need to get one to see if you can make it fire by using only the safety!!!

                    Got one coming. I suppose the chicken's crossbow is always fully cocked?

                      Maybe you have a newer year or something cause if USMC and at minimum 2 different reviews said the exact thing he said..does sorta sound quite flawful of a design that they may have tweaked after complaints??

                              This is where I got it from. I didn't see any mention of that issue, but seeing how they are the same thing, I can't say it can't happen. I'm still trying to get mine to shoot using only the safety. LMAO. Pretty bad when I'm trying to make something do something it ain't suppose to do isn't it?? I'll let you know when I figure out how to get it to do what usmc and others has done.
