Took Wilderness First Aid course this past weekend. Wow, great course and much more challenging than I expected. Highly recommended to anybody interested in this stuff. Lots and lots of stuff to learn and think about. Improvised backboard out of an internal frame backpack, swath and sling from an ordinary jacket, split by sleeping pad, and thermal burritos are some of the things I did today (both as care provider and patient). Course was a lot different than I expected and a lot better in many ways. Will have more to say at a later date...
