  • So who's got a SHTF buddy?

Sure we talk about cotton swabs soaked in vas (apparently useful for many things, lol), MREs, fishing line, bullets in calibers you don't shoot to trade with, yada yada yada. But how many SHTF buddies to you have? Really? I'm by no means an introvert and have a ton of people I call friends but when push comes to shove, I think I can name two SHTF buddies. You know, the kind that will be by your side no matter what thick or thin. Think about it.

I just started working again after 6 months unemployed. Behind on the mortgage and a lot of other things. Reluctantly I asked one of my SHTF buddies for $25K to help me get current. Not knowing what to expect he said would you like it in cash or check. That's a ****ing SHTF buddy right there and better to have by your side than anything in your BOB.

    Think about it.

Funny thing is he doesn't even know it, but I'd be by his side in a heart beat.

    The Peshitta that matters.

I have three myself... We've all grown up together... All have keys to each others houses and even cars.

These guys and I carry similar calibers, send holidays together and drive each others families around when need be.

15 years ago I would of given you a different list but as I grew up, I realize whose important and whose just taking up time.

Just so happens my other SHTF buddy (who doesn't know it) gave me a key to his camp up state. Whenever I need it. No questions asked. SHTF buddy.

I sent him a text tonight and told him to log in and check us out. Might have a new member LOL...

BTW, In fairness, I myself my not know all of my SHTF buddies. Now that I'm thinking about it, I could rattle off a few from this forum who I really don't know that well on a personal level but am pretty sure they would come through when it mattered most.

I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

I've got a few very long time buddies that I want to call shtf buds. The thing is, none of us have ever called on the other in any time of need yet. So although I do consider some of them shtf buddies, push come to shove, I'm not sure they'd be here in that moment of need.....although I would be there in a heartbeat. How do you know for sure if that moment of need has never been encountered?

I've also met a couple of NYSG guys that I'd be there in a moment too. I'm pretty sure both would be here as well.

I can certainly count on my family members, and my best friend that has since moved out of state. I'm sure that if push came to shove, and I had nowhere else to go, that usmcveteran would let me hang with him.

Although he would require that I:
a.) stay downwind of him (flatulence master) .
b.) bring my own food (I'm a chow hound)!

                        LOL

I got a couple if those but also my wife, my dad, her family my brother and a long list of awsome cousins and uncles. All angels looking over our shoulders. I am blessed with my family and friends. They also know they have our unconditional love and support.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft

This forum and the old one woke me up to planning. The help of a few local members certainly has helped.
