  • Quick $18 firewood rack

Built this today for $18.36 and took 2 minutes of work besides moving pieces and everything into back yard. It's made from 2 concrete blocks, 2 landscaping poles, and 2 2x4x8 cut in half.

Hey, pretty good! Never seen one like that before.

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

nice job, thinking of ordering another truck load of logs in, comes out to roughly 8 full cords, you can come cut, split and stack since you do such nice work, ha ha. Give this man a cookie for sharing a great idea with the rest of us, maybe a reason for a around the house helpful idea column, at least they would be grouped together that way.
I use the metal shipping crates from the 275 gal totes, cut a portion of one side out for loading and unloading. The one issue is you need to have access to them and a tractor with forks to move them, parts of my yard is washboard in the spring until the frost goes out as I have ag tires on my tractor.

Nicely done USMC! Now looking at the height of the wood and location, hopefully your neighbor won't be dipping into your supply. I caught my neighbor dipping into my wood supply.

My neighbor is disabled and doesn't have fires so I'm good I think . It's also probably a foot or two from fence.

Nice job. Only thing I'd be concerned about is the lumber rotting pretty quickly. Why didn't you use pressure treated or stain/paint it.

Getting tarp today to cover so it should cover and the lamdscsping poles are treated I think, good call on staining or treated though, I tried buying a rack but no one local had any for sale so this was a quick last minute thing. I fully expect it to last until the wood is gone though.

I think you just want to cover top 1/3 or so to keep rain soaking through it. Sealing it in completely actually helps promote rotting by keeping moisture locked in. No doubt it will last as long as the wood, but I'd expect it to last through many refills too, lol.

I do say nicey nice! Totally agree about not "airtight" tarping it and preserving it. Now thT ledt cinder block already has alittle tweek to it..be expecting to redo this after the freeze/thaw cycle completely whacks out that block 😳

I'm sure I could treat those too to waterproof so that water doesn't get in and freeze, if nothing else will be a nice experiment!
