  • Flashlights

So living in the city, I've always used a mini maglite. Have had them in use in various bits of kit for years.

Moving out to the country has taught me that they are woefully inadequate outside.

Since .308 is the ultimate long distance battle rifle cartridge, what is the .308 version of a flashlight? I've got about 75 yards to the treeline and would like to be able to light it up if needed.

This puppy will burn the paint off the side of a van at 200 yards:

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

The best thing you can do is learn, http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/content.php. There are crazy overwhelming things regarding flashlights and lighting. Some of these folk make their own stuff. There is video of people with crazy amounts of home made Cree super flashlights and you want to ignite the country with the power of a super nova this is where you go! Gl gave me a meltdown trying to understand some of it.

for the money i've been very happy with the Rayovac indestructible lights for the house and door of the truck.
i lit up a cat last night in the pitch black from 100 yards with a AA or AAA one.

bedside/shtf and weapon mounted i've been happy with streamlight options for the price.

I was going to recommend stream light also. If you want something that will really light the yard up check out a handheld rechargeable spot for boating. Super bright and some give you ability to use a spot or flood pattern.

Some nice flash lights for sure but DAMN!!! I'm not spending $720 on a flash light. You could buy a real nice rifle for that dough.

Not sure who you are responding to but I was thinking anywhere from $25 to $125 on upper end

USMC's link. The first one listed Acebeam.

Try different beams, I carried a inspection beam Coast pen light only 11 lumens but I have spotted deer a ways off with it because its focused, for reliability issues I've been carrying a 69 lumen 5.11 for a while and like that as well.

For something simple try a Riobi 18v light that is easy and fast to recharge... Same batteries as the drill.
Nothing tactical but it will give you a good view well into 300-400 yards...

I am the least tactical person in the world. I do not operate operationally. I kind of chuckle at the (over) use of the word.

Just tried my old 3 d cell maglite, does a decent job.

On another note - it's dark and clear, you can see the stripe/disc of the milky way. Fukking incredible!
