Bamboo. Expensive to start, but grows fast and covers well.

I think GUNSICK has the best idea of all! How did you get those to grow so well? Here's the Wisteria monster that resides in the backyard. It's integrated with other things like Poke Sallet, some baby Maple trees and blackberry vines. Basically it's a big mess, lol! You can see where I chopped away at it last year and some of the branches/vines were big enough to keep for firewood, lol! It didn't bloom last year but sure did attract a lot of flying/stinging things

Wow that got out of hand! I wonder if you could bring in local fire department to set it on fire for training?

Since it borders the neighbors property I don't think it would be a good idea, lol! It would be fun to take a flame thrower to it though!

Interesting idea! When we first moved in and I met the neighbor that is on the other side of that monster she said the previous owners hardly ever took care of it so over the years it had woven its way onto her trees and even on mine some of the vines have found their way 20+ feet up onto limbs. This is also THE perfect spot for a garden since it gets lots of sun during the spring and summer.

Sounds like she hates it too. Burn it up with fire department they get training , neighbor gets that crap out of her yard, and you get spot for garden and the ash from fire to fertilize the ground . everyone wins.

Thanks for the idea USMC! I'll have to look into it. There's a fire station just a few blocks away from our house.

No problem, I know around here sometimes people will donate houses that need to be torn down to the fire department to burn.

Let me know if it works out for you, has to be a lot easier then doing it by hand

Definitely a lot easier than doing it by hand! Although using a machete and chainsaw was pretty fun and a heck of a workout, lol!

Any deer around your house? If there are I would not use "Yews" aka "taxus capita" for your privacy fence. While it provides no nutrition for deer, when normal food souces get depleated they will consume the yews down to wood. This is what I had to do to prevent it.
