I am planning to have enough of 5 or 6 different type of meals that will last for a family of 4-5 for 5 years w/o any other input.
The the key is to have the extra of something to get enough fresh product or other things to barter for fresh product so virtually
one could keep rotating and never be out of food. I am also going for the easy fruits of long shelf life and easy to make preserves like
apples, pears, chestnuts and pecans for the winter. For rotating, one needs things of long shelf life but I refuse to eat REMs as they
are full of sodium and garbage. For a short term is ok, for a long term is garbage.
Grains, pasta, tomato sauce, those are a given. One should have already enough to rotate for 2 years minimum. The best deals are
the restaurant wholesale when they have storefront deals. You need to know someone, a family or friend, with a restaurant so you can get in there.

now that you are moving to the country plan on some chickens, maybe a cow or a couple of goats for fresh milk and start the kefir!!!
