Before you ask for a well to get water during water supply disruption check your sump pump drain system. You might always have a water level there with a few weeks exception
perhaps in summer. This water can be continuously pumped into containers and treated for use if needed vs.letting the water go to the sewer line.

If you don't have can opener you can rub top on pavement to wear down lip then squeeze near top to pop it off.

In cold cold weather, use strips of duct tape to attach a cheapo mylar blanket to the underside of your tarp. It'll reflect all the body heat you exert back at you instead of just floating away.
