  • Packs... What brand and why?

I'm a huge pack guy. I have multiple packs depending in where I'm going, for how long, and who else is going to be there.

Daily pack honestly is a Jansport regular looking backpack but I true BOB and or extended bounce pack is my Eberlestock SkyCrane II. Hands down, worth every penny. Storage, stitching quality, ability to store additional rifle inside the pack zipped up, etc.

Def most comfortable when healing weight.

What do you use as your pack?

I will be following this thread.

Currently I have Marine Corps pack and day pack as well as a high sierria pack but I want to find something lighter preferably in 3 to 4 lbs range.

Am I short stroking or going to fast?

Forgot to add my Eberlestock is coyote tan but have the camo rain cover to better disguise myself and it if terrain changes.

      Check out the GunSlinger 2.

Gunslinger 2 is 8.2lbs empty which is more then I want. I think my Marine Corps one is around that weight

My main bag is the USMC Gen 2 MARPAT ILBE Main Pack with Assault Pack. I scored this for $108.00 complete off of eBay, including shipping). They are now $200.00+ at the date of this post. It's a beast at 8ish pounds empty, but is just about indestructable. I've been using it for camping, hinking, and it's also my main Bug Out Bag. It's in a constant state of improvement, and currently it weighs 38 Pounds minus the weight of food & water.

I use a Victornox Electronics Backpack (the same guys that make the Swiss Army Knife) for my Netbook, Tablet, and other 'PC Releated" EDC stuff. I purchased this at Sam's Club for $35.00 about five years ago. I tote that whenever I'm visiting anyone that will require some of my computer skills. It has a smorgasbordof tools inside it to do just about any needed computer work. This also serves to keep my electronics stuff out of the other bags, which may become wet.

My MISC Everything Bag is my old Eastpack Backpack. I bought it 24 years ago while I was in High School. It is a standard sized backpack with two main compartments, a smaller organizer compartment, and a small front compartment. It's only about 2 pounds empty, and has carried as much as fifty pounds without so much as a thread out of place. The saying that 'they don't make them like they used to' holds true here. A current day Eastpack is not as durable as one of these old ones, as mine was made in the USA with the new ones being made in China.

My Bag for the vehicle is a old cheapo Tube-Style Duffel Bag that I bought for five bucks. I use it to organize all the tie-down straps, tools, and other car related emergency stuff. It stays in the vehicle 100% of the time. I plan on adding a Get Home Bag to the vehicle that will be an inexpensive (but sturdy) backpack with the gear necessary to make it back to civilization from a disabled vehicle.
