I would have to ask someone from work to confirm but on my last hiking trip one of the guys had a bag that looked similar to that for his cellphone. It lasted all of a couple openings before it ripped.

Not sure if its the same one or not but will try and find out.

I have a bunch of those and never had any issues and made well. Use them at the beach, white water rafting and camping. I got my first one after I was on a boat in Belize diving in really bad choppy water and a huge wave came over the bow blew some of the windows out and got my dry gear wet. Ruined my rolling papers lol!
I bought my sons out of state.

I use NRS or LL Bean dry bags, the roll close ones. For sensitive electronics I use Pelican boxes.

Double zip lock the heavy duty ones work just fine.
Also for other applications where you are worried about the zip lock to rip you can tape them in duck tape and find the edges.
They will never tear and they are super easy and cheap to make. There are small rolls or duck tape that one can collapse and
bring with you too. Same you do with 1/3 role of toilet paper. little space = big advantage! lol.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

We did a 10 day expedition in canoes several years ago. Maps and compass in the sack. They held up in the rain and fell overboard and floated. Perfect map application.

For scout land navigation (economy) we use 1 gallon freezer zip lock bags but found the non slide lock type are better. Zip locks for everything else in the backpack as well.

Highly recommended for boat and canoe use. For land use you can cheat.
