I was unbelievably comfortable, physically. It was a downed tree, and we crawled in under it, trimmed the underside branches off, and laid pine boughs down on the bottom. It was warm and cozy and I slept awesome.

I'd take it over the igloo, and the igloo was damn warm. WAY warmer than the lean-to everyone else was sleeping in. One thing I didn't like about the igloo was that it was actually TOO quiet. Like eerily quiet.

Definitely right about igloo being totally quiet. I slept in one the other year that I made, was interesting experience

It's impressive how warm they are inside, though. And there's no wind which is awesome. Just don't roll over and knock snow into your sleeping bag. It sucks.

Just use candle during day to warm it up and cause inside to melt slightly then blow it out so it freezes to ice then later you don't have go worry about snow,.

That's an awesome idea that we didn't do. But there were 3 of us in it so it was nice and warm.

Yea just needed to let it refreeze. Floor gets real hard too though. I want to build one with keg inside and taps coming out of wall lol

Anybody ever make debris shelters or the ones with what's found in nature? Would love to try and make one of those.

Not yet, but it's on the list of things to do soon.
