  • Any recommendations for quality hiking boot made in USA

Looking for new pair of boots. Mostly day trip with boy scouts. Want something Made in USA tired of indirectly supporting Chinese or the American corporations who manufacturer there to maximize profits. F them. So yeah I know a lot of good boots can be had from USA who also manufacture overseas... it's a start...

I know Danner, Merrill and even Timberland still make boots in USA

    anybody know about these guys...

Good for you. Never heard of them. That looks like a pretty beefy boot.

Interesting video about company and boot making process. Not sure if the Hiking boots are made same place.

Looks like Keen manufactures their work boots in the US. I'm not as sure about the rest of their product line.

There should be enough of a selection to get what you want. I have had several pair issued that have lasted for many years, albeit light duty as a Reservist. Use them every time I am 'outdoors.' Several pair since 2006 (when we dropped an effective camo pattern and went ACU). Never a problem.

I really like their gore-tex boot, personally. But these are DoD issue boots.

I've been interested in the 103/105 ultra lights for a while.

Chippewa 6" #20028 black Odessa leather in 11.5 EE. 3 coats of mink oil melted at the fireplace and painted on and a little shaving on the heel of the left insole and they're a perfect fit.

Thanks to Dave Whipple for the recommendation.

As a hiker; I know that Keen boots are loved by most people that wear them especially if you have a wide foot.

i generally have a harder time finding shoes/boots as i wear a size 15 or 16. my most recent boots are Rocky, and though they aren't hiking boots they have been really good made in the usa boots for the last couple years I've had them. i'm in the market this spring for new hiking boots so i'm glad to see all these recommendations thrown out on the table!
