    Boots. What do you like?

    Just curious what you have on your feet? This time of year I'm typically in Danner Pronghorns with 400g thinsulate or Muck Arctic Pro. In the summer it's Keen or Vasque hikers or my $12 tall rubber boots that go to the swamps with me.

    what do you like? Why?

    I've had these Keen's for 3 years. They're beat to hell now, but I just can't give them up.

      I looking at getting a new pair of boots. Thinking about these. I have to find somewhere to try them on first.

        BTW... checked those boots out. Look nice. I had a pair of salomon running shoes, but they were a bit overbuilt for my taste. These are described as "light and nimble". Let me know if you get them, I'd like to check them out in person.

      I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

        after many, many pair of Timberland boots, I have switched to Rocky boots
        I will post a pic of the crap Timberline makes these days
        they just dont last here on the farm

          I'm looking at red wing for my next . I'd like a pair of uninsulated boots for summer.

        Dad always wore Red Wings for work. They offer tune-ups and resoles/repairs with their warranty if I remember correctly.

        I have been looking for a good pair of hiking/backpacking boots for a couple months as I'm doing a lot more hiking than I've ever done before with Scouts. I currently have a relatively inexpensive (around $100$125ish) pair of Merrells, which are comfortable but don't provide enough support on rocky trails. Think I've narrowed it down to a pair of Lowas




        or Zamberlans




        but also considering ASOLOs




        . I always thought Keens were made in USA and was disappointed a couple weeks ago when I looked at a pair and it was made overseas (Asian). I actually prefer old-school leather boots over the newer light-weight materials but admit the Merrils are pretty comfy in everyday use. I still wear an old pair of Timberlands that I've had forever when I'm working on construction projects. Like I said, Old school, LOL...

          My brother likes Asolos. Puts a lot of city miles on them.

        I use a Bellville boot called Range Runner. Its a civilian hiking version of their US combat boot. Comfy for a long day and tones of support for those athletic moves my 55 year old body can make.

          That's a nice looking, well reviewed boot. They look fairly light and flexible, which I like in a summer boot. Might be worth a try.

          I absolutely love my Asolo Fugitive GTX's, and I need to replace them, but the $250 price tag is preventing that from happening any time soon.

              Hey, at least a US worker had a job putting it together unlike most of the other footware out there today. I'm still leaning towards the LOWAs or Zamberlans, but they're made in Europe.
