Camping trip?

This is an example of a hammock that is being talked about and its the kind I have and so does LTL but LOD has a different one I think http://hennessyhammock.com/catalog/#hammock . You string it between 2 trees and string tarp above it. It is so comfortable with no pressure points and when set up to correct height you can easily stand up and get into it.

Like LOD said I have seen people on hammock forum talking about setting them up inside and only sleeping in the hammocks.

I'm too much of a wimp for winter camping these days. I did my share of it in scouts (and plenty of single digit temps too). I'll pass! Lol warm trips for me please.

Sorry I haven't posted back guys... been busy... our range/location is halfway between Stillwater and Schuylerville,NY... if this is something you guys wanna do, just set a date and let us know so we can reserve the place for the weekend. Night fishing is awesome here too!!! Lol we also have a fridge we have access to as well to keep stuff cold without going thru obscene amounts of ice.

let me know when u wanna do this and we can get the ball rolling.

I would love to do this at fem/chicky land..just has to be a good weekend for me, lets try and pick a few weekends and narrow it down to the majority of peeps that can do that certain one..

Is there any set date and place yet USMC on the camping trip which I am sure it be ether in the spring or summer time we just would need the place and month.I like the idea that Cgrutt posted somewhere by Lake George or the Adirondacks would work out great for me as it would be with in 150 to 200 mile range for me depending where it is taking place...so from where I live to Albany would be ok..

I can not wait to meet you and some of the other members here.I know I do not know a lot about camping anymore since the last time I went I was around 12 years old so it has been a very long time,I know you and a bunch of the others mentioned you had some extra camping gear I could use but I going to try to buy a few things if I am able to such as a cot to sleep on, sleeping bag,bug spray I am sure I will need,some fishing gear and a few other things I think I should have..

Ok sounds good looking forward to see what you can come up with,If need be I will travel further if I need to,it is not really a big deal as long as I can get away from here for 2 or 3 days would be nice.

As you probably already know I plan on making a special trip some time this summer out to Gunner place for 2 or 3 days which is around 7 to 7.5 hour drive depending on how fast or what direction I go out to his place..

Or those folks that got these! The hammock shelter is being built now. Got the stove on Monday. Yep I've taken hammocking to a whole new level.
I did a group hang up in Canada two weeks ago. It was a blast. It got down to -20F. Yeeeehaw! I learned a few things. Biggest was that anything that wasn't in a cooler froze solid. I even had coke freeze in a cooler. We pretty much just drank the booze straight. ha ha.
Might be building a polk and doing a Canadian back-country trip in Feb. Biggest factor on that one is whether or not I can get my foot issue semi managed. So Winter Camping Hell Yeah!!! Yeah, I know I'm really roughin it.

ps- Clarence, I have an extra hammock if you'd like to try it. You'll be amazed at how your back feels in the morning.

Thanks Liberty as soon as we have a date I will take up your offer,I just have to make sure I have something so I can use it in,as I have no camping gear what so ever.hopefully I can get a couple things before this all takes place..

Ok. I was just looking at the calendar. How about July or August? The 4th of July is on a Saturday this year, not sure if that interests anyone. Or we can do it after that... any weekend during those two months is good for us... just trying to avoid the crazy school schedules in June and September... any suggestions?
