I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft
Definitely interested. I have an extra bag and 2 man tent that could be loaned out for anyone needing gear for the trip. Would love to try a winter trip if anyone is up for it
Clarence, In all seriousness you may want to consider getting a hammock not only for camping but also to set up in your home. Many people have found that they get a better more pain free sleep from sleeping in a hammock. I talking real camping hammock not the rope ones. There is very little stress points on your body when sleeping in a hammock. Go over to hammockforums.net and search the topic. Tons of info on pain free hammock sleeping and also how to set up a hammock in your home. Hope your progressing in the right direction, I'll let you know if I make any progress because I have a load of doctors lined up, from nerve specialists to accupuncture. I have an MRI set up for Monday that I'm pretty nervous about. I'm not having my back operated on a second time. Fingers crossed.
I'm game for Hammock Camping using my BOB in it's current configuration. I still need a top and bottom quilt for it, but it'll work to pretty cool temps with just the 0-degree mummy bag I have to throw into it for now. :-)
I have no problem hiking a ways, but it would be nice to keep it a very short distance so everyone can participate. After all, we want to test out our BOB's contents, not our aging and underfit bodies! LOL
I'd be up for a winter overnight possibly two. Not comfortable with a long trek though couple to 5-6 miles in is about my limit. Been there, done that, lol... Good times in 10 degrees though, ha, ha...
When you guys get done testing your survival skills/BoB's and just want to camp out, sit around a fire, suck down beers, eat lots of steak/bacon/cheeseburgers/hotdogs, shoot guns, and generally **** off in the Summer time, let me know....I'm in.
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
I have to bend over too far
I get a boner.
bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!
I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Thanks for the info LibertyOrDeath,
I sort of lost count on how many back surgeries I have had I think this will be number 5 once a date is set,now for a MRI the only bad part is laying absolutely still for around 45 minutes on your back which is the hardest part as it is very hard on your back especially when your in pain, now as to a hammock that sounds like a good idea never even thought of that..will have to check in to one especially so it would fit inside a tent which would need to big enough to house it...

Edit this would be great if it was held around the Lake George area that Cgrutt had mentioned..
Now I would have to stay with the spring or summer time for me,the cold would be to much on me especially on my back and health issues..
