  • Commenting now enabled, What are your thoughts?

Not sure if this will stay or not, depends on how you all like it. Now you will see an option near the like button to "comment" that will allow you to comment on that specific post. You can't comment on the OP.

If you all like it we can keep it, if you don't we can scrap it. Just let me know!

I think it keeps comments closer to original post, especially for folks that don't read though all the posts ?

Are comments searchable like posts are?

I think a lot of comments might get lost (i.e., missed or not read) on longer threads. At least for me, I tend to only read the last posts in a thread and not go back to read everything from the beginning, so let's say for example we're on second page of a thread and somebody posts something on first page, it probably won't get read by many people. Not opposed to the idea though if everybody else likes it.

I personally have mixed feelings as well which is why I never activated it before . So for those who like it speak up.

As per CG's comments above, I personally don't see the value.

Na, not a fan. I'd rather see quoted posts throughout the thread. Easier to follow I think.

I don't go back to search threads for comments. I just check the new posts at the end of the thread.

I'm going to vote to leave it. Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it. But it could be a nice feature to prevent an entire thread from going off track.

That is why popular forums dont enable it nor IM features. content is lost because it was not thought out to be part of the natural data flow and merely an addon.
