As much as I hate to say it we need to pick new name and lose the GMM motto. I've been told by a number of people they won't even check us out because of name. I've also been told its too hard to spell lol.

I'm not so sure new names will change what goes on here. No matter what name you pick the core peeps will be the core peeps chatting about same old last posts and sarcastic pokings..to change a name and magic inflows of people to appear, gonna need a whole platform of forums that people are searching on the web at top of mind. Obviously someone googling guns in NY or something like that, will be led to NYF..as we all did when we first found them too. With this place not much about guns at all but more about joking and sarcasm and personal achievements, I'd say the name is what it is. I can't imagine a name change and restructuring will all of a sudden not have chicken jump in every few days with a one liner, or pictures posted of the progress of ones construction job, or a "winning" in their thread..it is what it is, sorta the same for the year, a name won't matter. I'd have to say the one restriction in achieving the level of membership IS the "guns" idea. As I've mentioned in the last round of "what can we do's..etc" I would suggest dropping anything to do with guns and just op an open forum of gathering and BSing and unwinding, while still seeing a useful idea thread, or how to thread or a gun thread in a designated gun section...and with that your vision of a place you first thought of making of a place to hang shoot the chit and talk about whatever. Now, as for the people that claim they can't spell it or find it cause it's to confusing a word.. I'd prefer those fools stay away then anyhoo 😉

As much as i like you guys we need support from advertising (either vendors we know that we give sections to and run banner ads, which we have done for free so far) or through click ads etc from the likes of Google or Viglink to keep this sustainable. For that to happen we need membership and good content. We had a strong start earlier this year with about 200 members. Most of which fell off the chart. I've heard different things from different folks about the reason people dropped off but I'm sure the leading cause were all the issues we had with vBulletin either not being able to get into sections or slow response time or unfriendly user interface or just being down more often than not. USMC and I have made a commitment and investment to fix these issues and get forum back on track. Personally I want to keep the gun theme (both hardware and rights) and do more with other related areas including humting, fishing. Camping and survival/self reliance. I also want to open it up to outside NY. Still keep the relaxed atmosphere and commrodery (sp?) But that should be secondary to core themes. My 2 cents.

They can't see that there are other ways to create mischief and mayhem?? I could TP their house. That's alittle showing of mischief.
