Let's figure out what URL we want to use and if we are going to stay on vbulletin 5 but not on cloud and or if we can transfer date to different software.

Other host lol, when we move forum might be down for half a day. Once we get back up we have to shut down forum and give backup to new host to reconstruct.

Let's do it right next time. Not sure vBulletin has a place in any of its versions. Wouldn't feel this way if they responded to our requests for help. But it is what it is....

Here is the scoop you may not know...... Vbulletin 4 is what other place uses. They got bought out and lost all developers but one person. For version 5 they started over from scratch which is why there are so many issues. Not sure if its been figured out yet but before you could go from 4 to 5 but not other way around.

So to do it right let's get opinions on software from members and then research it (I can do that part) and go from there. But we do need to move so we don't get stuck with another update.

Let's also pick new URL and rebrand for wider audience to get more discussion going. I will also rename my router to whatever the new website name is for free advertising.

I "heard" you had to buy 5 but could go back to 4. That's the other place, lol. Plenty of other options out there. Let's pick what's right. It doesn't have to start with a vB. Prefer that it doesn't after this experience, lol. As far as URL we've got a bunch of them, lol. Really doesn't matter (despite what Mek says). We can redirect however you want. Most important thing in my view is having a platform that is user friendly and works. Everything else will fall in place because we've got the best damn core behind us on the planet.

If you buy 5 you get license for 4 as well but when I checked previously you couldn't transfer data from 5 to 4.

Anyone have any suggestions for software? What did Mek suggest?

F vB, let's take this to the next level, LOL. Seriously, a month to fix a critical part of the forum that they broke during a "upgrade". F them. Seriously. Oh and I'm glad to be trash talking them on their own platform, ha, ha.
