I want to start off with the disclaimer that I like the logo above, its a great design and works well but I have an idea......
I am on another site that has a 1000's of users. They have a logo at the top of the page just like us. They change it out once a month. The logo's are all designed by users of the site. They submit them to an admin who pics one and posts it.
Logistically this is as easy as renaming the new logo to the same file name as the old and uploading it to the same directory so it doesn't involve getting into any code and changing files.
If we are sticking with the giant logo we are wasting space. There is a lot of blank grey screen to the right of our logo that could be filled up with more graphic awesomeness.
I have attached an example of the other site with the full width logo design.
