The estimates I would say $750-$780 full upper and the dies but as we get more people we can lower the cost and get closer to $700 or even $600 with
more modest rail and carrier. But the barrel, bolt, etc.. there is no cutting corners there. It must be good quality to be strong and reliable.
But think about the savings in bullets and being able to use the same value packs that work well with some loads for both pistol and rifle.
And that is why lapua brass or grendel hornady or laupa with small primer will share the same supplies for both pistol and big momma rifle.
Think of it like the 30 carbine but instead of 110gr bullets we will do 147gr to 220gr faster! lol.

This is a dummy I made that is a bit larger but it gives you an idea of the kind of variations you can do between bulk FMJs for pistol above
and the 180gr-220gr rifle below. The pistol are not going to be so efficient fllyer but in the 200 yards will be brutal. I look at it this way. I am going to be using the pistol ones for practice and
maybe some hunting too but at 200 yards although it starts to considerably drop, still at that distance it ill be like putting a long 357 magnum against the intended target and pulling the trigger.
So plenty for that kind of performance and for that cost. This is not a long range cartridge but if you look at a 200gr FTX retains more punch than the 458 socom other than the muzzle so up to
300 yards will drop anything. Beyond that you are probably looking at other AR cartridges like the 6.5BR or BRX, 6.8spc wiht 120gr or the 270 from ARP but that is a complete different beast for long range. I think in the average hunting range this is brutal.

I believe that a 225gr projectile from om a 10" barrel this baby will give you gun 1,7200 fps or more. ...
More power than the AK47 carbine at any distance! lol.

Amazing what a relatively inexpensive bullet and economical 20gr of powder can do, isn't it?
At 150 yards is like a full power 44 remington magnum at the muzzle. Both from pistols!! LOLLast edited by Meketrefe; 01-15-2015, 08:55 PM.It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

What are your thoughts on the gas port size? Is that determined by trial and error, or are there ways to calculate what would be appropriate?NRA Life Member

We will use std mid length porting and start small like 70 thousands. I will test with the fastest and slowest powders and open a tad up if needed. This way we get the optimun size to also make sure the uppers run fine with the mildest practice loads. Starting small and opening up is the best way to do it. If someone is going to do subsonic loads then I need to know because here the best is an adjustable system or have the barrel with two gas blocks being the pistol one closed when shooting supersonic jp losds. But this we will have to do aside to make sure is done with care and one doesnt end with an unrelaible pos like some of the blackout barrels in the market. It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

I will def be using a Syrac Adjustable gas block for this and subsonic is not out of the question. Not just a tamer load for the sake of my neighbors (who can tell the difference when I'm shooting an AK vs 5.56 lol) but for going out of state and throwing a friends hush puppy on one of my builds.
