I think we could go with something a tad milder but using the same 7.62x39 brass and the corresponding bolt.
Would this make it more attractive?
One could even build not just an upper but an entire AK based platform like a saiga in 358 caliber using the same reamers.

We already have 7 people interested on this awesome project!

Also bushed stainless or CM cerakoted to one's liking?

CM is easier to treat but it must be finished. Perhaps gunsick could cerakote a few.
SS is easy one could leave it rough finish or I also like to put the barrel in the lathe and give it 5 minutes turn with scotchbrite look nicely brushed w/o being too aggressive.
These can also take cerakoted with camo or whatever on top if one wants.
