Ok. If he has the 800 series then we can go back to the .740 base diameter although we concluded that was going to be too much recoil to make it comfortable to shoot.
That is why I like the .450 base, it seems like a great compromise and seems somewhat easier I think.

OK .. the round is final. A bit shorter and I think will give a bit less power but then it will be more
versatile, way more comfortable to shoot, and if you want you can still pop dinosaurs with it still!. lol

                Shooter found!!

Having that in a pistol barrel and in 16"/18" will be badazz.

After Celt posting up his ARES 002... I can throw 357 Gunner on that lower as well and be set as well on any ther lower I have. BOOM.

I am not sure. I think the ARES is pretty limited. How is the situation with different springs and buffers stiles and weights?
I am saying because when shooting 225gr bullets one might find it way more comfortable and reliable getting a dual strength spring and precharged buffer.

According to Ares all AR variant calibers are welcome on their lower... Maybe use a Syrac adjustable Gasblock to help slow the action down a bit and decrease the beating I'm gonna give the action.

That sounds like a lot of BS to me. They either have the parts to change the buffer strength and tempo or they don't. To be honest I do not see one single advantage over the torsten with a standard lower. shooting prone it is actually more comfortable than the original AR15. Have you tried one?

you can try it but if you break it you pay for it! LOL. Even with the reduced cases I made this will be stout with the 200gr and 225gr bullets. with the pistol bullets should be a bit more manageable. I think keeping the recoil a tad more manageable than a 308 winchester will help folks with accuracy and enjoy this more, don't you think? In the end more folks will be
hunting in the 300 yards range and this round will obliterate anything at these ranges. Still we will enjoy a dual strengh buffer spring and extra beefed up buffer. you will see...
I cannot wait to get the test upper going. I might do a pistol like you too but on a velmet or akm action so I can top load with a clip just like an SKS. LOL
This is going to be so much fun I am afraid I might be shooting only this one, specially due to the low cost of 9mm FMJs.

Obviously I'm equally excited... Guy at Ares said it could handle 458 socom and 450 bushmaster so I'd assume it's able to handle this or am I looking at this wrong?

The "it could handle" part is what is confusing. In order to adjust from a 223 to a heavy round you need to have an adjustment system and different springs. Do they have them or not?
handlying is not the answer. Or course it should be able to "handle" them but here we are talking about tuning a specialty system and adjusting several variables.
Again, I do not see one single advantage over the FRS torsten stock, only disadvantages. Or what am I missing here?

I already have a lower with a FRS stock and not a fan of the angle... Just a thought of using something different for this build which, in essence, is the Point of this caliber, something different. Plus been eyeing the ares anyway for something different.... I like the idea that the angle of the grip on the ares is same as an 870 and action is similar to that of a semiauto shotgun. Figured after testing this out on my other lowers, I'd give myself an excuse get an Ares. Can also put in one of my stripped Six8 uppers so ammo can be fed through the Six8 Pmags. Lots of ideas for this cartridge.
