I REALLY thought is was his 870 that had the troubles, and that spectacularly self-disassembled.

BUT, I was on the other side of the line. All I saw was a black barrel.

No way Jose. That was an 870.

In all fairness to Remington, that was the one that had a squib load and was disassembled earlier in the day to check the barrel for obstructions. I get the feeling that it was maybe hastily re-assembled, so I think we can probably chalk that one up to operator error.

Funny, but sitting in my printer right now is the SERVICE REQUEST for one of my clubs Rem 597s. Apparently there is some 'issue' with the safety not letting the trigger reset. Its the great experience we like to have with 1st time shooters in the 12-16 year-old range when they take the hunter ed course. They classify it as a code A_M025: Fail To Fire.

I so wanted them to buy 10/22s.
