As far as force on force classes, the training center I use in Putnam County, was designed for it. There is a reason certain elements of the special operations community, law enforcement tactical teams and many others train there. With offices, apartments, a drug store, a bodega, restaurant, a defensive tactics gym, judgement simulator, vehicles and a warehouse - all with furniture and props, it is a great place for scenario based training. The first class we scheduled this year sold out in 24 hours, so we did a second one the following weekend and it sold out in 72 hours. It was well received and everyone got to go through multiple scenarios. Only down side is there will always be down time while waiting to do a scenario - which is typical of most training venues that do force on force or live fire shoot house classes. It is hard to get around that. The great thing was they offered the students a discounted rate on there use of force simulator to fill down time, one of the days they even offered up airsoft guns and had our students doing some room clearing/target discrimination training while they were waiting to do scenarios. They also linked up with a local deli to provide a catered breakfast and lunch combo that was good food and a decent price - I think like $12 everyone got a choice of different hot breakfast wraps and beverages, a hot lunch and beverages and I think we brought coffee.

For you upstate guys, who may not have a place to host a class, it is definitely worth the drive. Here is a glimpse of some of the scenarios we did:
I have always wanted to volunteer locally to be involved with those force on force training for local law enforcement as like a hostage or hostile. Is there a way in general to go about trying to do that?

I also remember first time I used simunitions, our instructor went around and shot everyone in the leg so " you know what it feels like" lol.

Most agencies and companies would probably look at the liability of someone volunteering to do it and shy away.

Figured as much, when I took criminal justice class some of the other students got to do it and wasn't sure if there was waiver or something.

        Thanks for reply.

LIsten, Kenny has top notch training and is a stand up guy. You can't go wrong with his classes and experience. If you get enough people to get a class by you or if you hop in a car and take one of his classes down here you will not regret it at all. There are a few hotels down here if you are interested in staying here. I know there is a Holiday Inn Express in Peekskill that is clean and it is about 10 minutes from the range he uses.

No problem Ken. I've known you for how long now? Can't sit here and not say how good you are.
