Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
I have to bend over too far
I get a boner.
bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!
I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

I practice clearing my house when ever the wife and kid aren't home. The wife doesn't care to see it and the kid is just a baby and doesn't need the exposure to that reality yet. With that said I don't practice it to be some hero ridding the world of some scumbag. There are trains of thought that come to mind in this situation.
One, the smartest and safest thing you can do is flee probably the most legally sound thing too. I can tell you if I have the family holed up in one room and 911 on the phone I'm not clearing the house. If the scumbag tries to come through the door it will be the last thing he does. I don't think many people can live through a double tap of buckshot then slug, but miracles do happen. I can tell you I won't be going out my window with the family. The reason behind this is I'm the only one in the family that's has any skills or training on personal defense. How am I suppose to cover threats from different angles. Now you have to be able to cover the whole outside world and what might be coming from your house. But if you stayed holed up in your room you out have to cover the entrance. Much more doable for a single gunner.
The second train of thought is if a situation has degraded so badly that someone has entered my house all bets and plans are off and you have to stay fluid to survive. My doors are locked all the time and I have 100lbs bulldog in the house. If the scumbag has made it past both of those obstacles then he means harm so it's a very bad situation that needs to be dealt with fast as to limit casualties of my family. I'm not saying go and hunt him through your house but you might have to move through your house to gather love ones. This makes the situation even more dangerous because you have love ones that might rush you when they see you and you might have bad guys rush you when they see you. It's a really bad situation where a mistake could be made easily.
Closing thought is get training and I hope no one here ever gets put into that sort of situation.Semper Fi

The problem is with this crap hole of a state. You could have the bad guy on camera in your house saying he is going to kill you and your whole family. Then rush you with a knife when you pull the trigger. Have no doubt you probably won't be held criminally but almost guaranteed you will will have to defend yourself civilly. I don't agree with it but that's how the progressives have rigged the system. The criminal has more rights than the victim.Semper Fi

If the criminal intends to do you harm the legal fallout is going to suck and it could cost you a fortune, but in my mind it beats the potential alternative. Generally speaking if a criminal enters an occupied dwelling and doesn't leave when he/she realizes it's occupied, you can rest assured he/she isn't there with benevolent intentions.
I'm in no rush to shoot someone and have never practiced "clearing" my house, but I'd still say t's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.NRA Life Member
