  • Rochester Defensive Pistol Associates (RDPA) concealed carry shoot

Every Tuesday 4:00 to 8:30 at GCL, 5 man squads run two courses every 45 minutes. Open to anybody that shows up, where the hell are you Rochester area guys? I've been doing this for a month now and can say it's a blast! Get to shoot real-world type scenarios once a week, indoors, for $10......can't beat it.
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Tonight was my second time participating in the Tuesday night Rochester Personal Defense CCW shoot at Genesee Conservation League in Penfield. Great bunch of guys, highly recommended. They set up a couple of real world scenarios with shoot/no-shoot targets that require threat assessment and tactical engagement, utilize concealed carry protocol, don't allow a walk through so it's a real surprise when you run the drill, and allow you to schedule yourself for a squad (every 45 minutes from 4:00 to 9:00PM) in advance via the website. A great training session, indoors, in-and-out in an hour....can't beat it! Anybdy else participate?

I went once over the summer. I enjoyed it very much. I've been wanting to go again, but 3 very active kids keep me tied up pretty much nightly in some way. The sad part is I'm a member at GCL too, so it's not a long drive or unfamiliar territory. I'll have to try and find my defensivepistol.net login. I never saved it to roboform when I signed up like a dumbass

Hey Greg, where were you this week? We retired Uncle Buck and had to deal with a baby this week (carry baby on the strong side, clear rooms while shooting with the weak side hand). I was taping all night and never noticed one of the bad guys was wearing a bullet proof vest....popped him with 3 center mass.....failure to neutralize, dammit! (guess I need to start practicing head shots)

That sounds like a lot of fun. Way too far to get there though.

Wish they had something like that around here. Can't beat the price either.

Open to anyone? I didn't know that! I'm going to have to get over there when my schedule allows to get some more range time!

Hello all: Here's some more info about the shoot that will help.

The Tuesday Night Concealed Carry Shoot is run by Rochester Defensive Pistol Associates, LLC. The entity was started many years ago by Stu Jenkins. In one form or another, the basis of the current version of the shoot has been the longest running weekly event in the Rochester area and at the Genesee Conservation League (GCL). I am the Assistant Range Master for the event and the Founder/Primary Instructor for Rochester Personal Defense, LLC. Western NY's standout training and educational company for self defense and firearms. The Tuesday CCW Shoot, in it's current form, has evolved into a great event where both new shooters and experienced shooters can attend and practice, learn, and gather with other shooters. The atmosphere is casual and easy to walk into as every shooter there is ready to accept new people all the time - and we do almost every week!

Utilizing photo realistic targets, we afford the participant the chance to immerse themselves into a stage or scenario where they will get the chance to practice drawing, reloading, malfunction clearing, movement, target ID and judgement, scanning, environmental awareness, and more. All in a safe and reliable method!

The squads are maxed out at 12 (6 per group, per squad) and run every 45 minutes. The first squad goes off at 4 and the last one is at 700pm. The cost is only 10.00 for one run (both stages) and an additional 5.00 for a second run if there is room. Your first night is free (of course we have to get you hooked, right?).

To register to attend, go to www.defensivepistol.net and set up your new user ID. Once approved, you can register for a squad time. For your first night, you'll need to arrive about 15 minutes earlier than your squad time for your orientation.

What equipment do you need to bring? It's easy, nothing special. Eye and ear protection (make sure you are wearing these before you enter the range), Your defensive handgun (in a holster or case), 100 rounds of ammo, a magazine holder or someplace to secure them, an extra magazine or two, and an open mind- ready to have fun!

Feel free to contact me directly for any questions at the info listed below. Good luck, good shooting!
