I think I'm going to try this!

I'm not in the best shape and am currently working through PT on my shoulders to try and manage severe arthritis/ bone spurs, but I should be able to handle doing intermediate anyway. Nothing like having a goal and even better, getting your ass handed to you.

Crap, we're out of town that weekend. Looks cool, let us know how it is if you go. Hopefully they'll do it again soon.

I hope they do this again in future, I'd definitely be interested! Don't think I'd be able to make that date.

5 rifle magazines and 5 pistol magazines. For this kind of thing I'd probably want 5 30 round rifle mags limited to 10 round and I only have 1. I also only have 3 pistol mags for my primary. Plus I'd have to take the muzzle brake off my rifle. Other than that it's tempting.

are those the mag req's for a regular tactical games or a skirmish? I wonder if there is a difference for the skirmish, i didn't see the 5 mag req's when i looked. I don't think i have any 10/30's, but i do have some 10/20's at least. I'd say regardless of whether you do this or not you should get some more pistol mags for your primary!

yeah luckily I have a compliant featureless that i can run without a brake or anything on the bbl. of course now i want to mod it before november LOL I'd loan it to you but i think i'm going to go for it and do this myself.

I've got plenty of 10/20's, but for drawing from a standard mag carrier, that's going to be less than ideal. I didn't see any distinction between games/skirmish when I looked at the website. If you can find more details let me know.

All I'd really have to do is swap out my brake to compete. Would probably want to add a fixed mag buffer to help with reloads too. Not out of the question, but I'd be nervous heading into such a competition without some more clues about how they're going to accommodate SAFE act limitations. No idea if I'll have the time to come watch, but it sounds very interesting.

Reading up on the distinction between Elite and Intermediate, I can't help but wonder how many people will actually enter the elite category at a smaller market event like Rochester. No idea how far people would travel to compete here, but I question how many shooters would actually fit their definition of 'elite'.

i know some sheriff swat guys that could probably do elite, and I'd think Pat K who's in the video would go elite but maybe i'm way off and I should be in light (if they were to have it at the skirmish anyway) and those guys are intermediate. not sure, if i talk to pat or even brandon soon i'll bring info back.

I have thread caps and some 10/30s that you guys can use if needed. As long as its an event I can't make obviously.

there are mag carriers that are shorter too. Wilde custom gear has shingles that work better with stubby NYers and I like itw fastmags too though they're obviously more expensive than a lot of options out there.

The more I think about it you really want mag pouches to be velcro though or something easy on/off on the carrier because they need to weigh it without the pouches

If I was going to do this, I would prefer not to throw a ton of extra money at it. It's not a cheap event to enter, plus 2 more pistol mags, 400 rounds of ammo, a buffer, 10/30s..... I've only got 4 rifle mag carriers and a double pistol pouch. My plates and carrier weigh about 40 pounds without any mag pouches, so the weight of the pouches isn't going to matter.

Eh, I'm losing enthusiasm as we talk about it.
