    Home defense shotgun shells?

    Anyone have any recommendations or things to consider like over penetration?

    When I was researching what to load my 12 Ga. 870 clone with for home defense, I ended up using 2¾" 4 buck. 4 buck gives me approx 34 .24" pellets VS 9-12 .33" pellets in 00 buck. I figured the 4 buck has enough horsepower to get the job done while minimizing over-penetration and possible collateral damage. There is lots of info and ballistic tests on the web.

        Anything between #4 and 0.
        BB will also work well in CQ.
        The choke will determine how fast it spreads.
        It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance

                It's hit or miss for the #1 buck, but Beikirchs usually has some. The stuff patterns like a dream.
