At the beginning of the week I ordered a new ejector and mag tube spring for the Mossy. I've had the thing for almost 20 years and never replaced any parts on it. Well, today the parts arrived from Numrich Gun Shop in Kingston. Hopefully I'll get a chance to install them. Watched several videos on assembly/disassembly so I should be ok. I need to practice this anyway like I did with the SKS, do it multiple times in a row until you can assemblw/disassemble without thinking about it. Also got some snap caps to test it out when I'm done

Take down is easy, it's the putting her back together that's the tough part!
The 500 is quite a bit trickier than the SKS but not at all difficult once you've done it a couple of times.Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
I have to bend over too far
I get a boner.
bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!
I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

I don't do it often enough to memorize the steps, I just grab a video when necessary.Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

The first video I watched was good but hard to see some things. The auto functions of the camera made stuff dark or out of focus. Hmm...once I get the procedure down I should make my own video. I've got all the gear. Even have a macro ring adapter to get uber close.I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

That wasn't too bad. Disassembled and reassembled it about 10 times for good practice and ran some snap caps through it. The new mag tube spring is twice as long as the one I pulled out so now there's some resistance when loading. Cleaned, lubed and ready to rock!I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.

The reason I like the first one is the drum mags in the second one don't hold the shells in very well according to the guys in the video. That and the drum mag seems like it would be a bit awkward as far as weight balance is concerned.
Oh, and one bonus fun factor for the first one. The mag is so huge size wise it would make the antis faint, haha!I could be wrong...it's happened before and it'll happen again.
