My thinking being that if i pick it up by the foregrip it will naturally complete the loading cycle. I used to leave it cruiser-ready but decided that under stress I may either fumble with or completely forget about the slide release button when it comes time to rack one into the chamber and with SG's not being drop safe I don't want to store it with one in the pipe..Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

Safety is always on until ready to fire. Being a lefty with the long guns, much like yourself, I own Mossberg exclusively because of the tang mounted safety. if I pull the trigger and it doesn't go bang, my thumb is already resting in the safety so hopefully I can push it to the fire position without the delay causing me major problems. I might reconsider this choice on rigs with a cross bolt safety in the trigger guard as I find those very awkward to operate efficiently.Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own
