    393-17X...but no front sight?
By Ashley Brugnone, CMP Writer CAMP PERRY, Ohio – Keith Stephens, 44, of College Station, Texas, earned the top honor during the 2016 President’s Rifle Match on July 25, firing a remarkable score of 393-17x. Having competed in the match more than 10 times in his career and coming as close as a fifth-place finish, he knew the sort of Continue Reading

You fuddy-duddy old guys and your iron sights.......optics is the future, man! Pretty soon the winner will be determined by group size, not score.
Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

There should be an asterisk next to his name.

There were some iron sights shooters in the top 20 shootoff, but this is just the first year. Lots of guys were still getting used to their scopes.

White Oak had a couple competition specific scopes in their shop on commercial row. One from March and one from Nightforce. Both around the $2000 mark. Congratulations CMP on pricing younger competitors out of the game and jeopardizing the future of the sport in order to appease the baby boomers.

I also just read a forum post regarding the CMP and NRA rules are about to part ways....in a more permanent manner. I guess the scoped ARs are too much for the NRA to stomach. Battle lines are being drawn.

Perhaps if CMP would charge $25/year membership fee, they wouldn't need to worry about revenue streams (or dry creek beds, as the Garands are nearly gone).

For what CMP is and it's purpose they should allow scopes but I would rather see an open class , scope class and iron sight class .

But the "revenue stream" situation is exactly what the CMP is going to kill with this move. It's a very short sighted decision. Perhaps they'll enjoy a bit more interest from older shooters for a few years, but that can't last forever. The younger shooters that they priced out of the game won't be there to replace the older shooters as they give it up.

It was only the first year, but without looking up the numbers from last year I'd say attendance in the P100 and NTI were down slightly this year. They definitely weren't up substantially from 2015.

But CMP is now a Nightforce distributor. Their $2k scope will have a CMP logo on it.

              Don't you want one?

Seriously? The CMP is making money on this?

Of course I'd love a Nightforce scope. It's on my list of things to buy when I win the lottery.

It's on the lottery list right behind an Eliseo match rifle put together by JL Gunsmithing.

Hey Ham_chu, I spent the day today shooting with a rather attractive young lady who kept trying to convince me that she knows you. Hell of a shot, you best watch yourself around her when she's packing.

It took a a while to convince Mrs. Chu, but I finally did it. There is only so much I can teach her,. and you saw where I left off. I trust Chris to continue that course, as she will only listen so much to me (if at all).

She was actually embarrassed at one point, I guess she heard you guys talking about me (by name), something about CMP, and texted "Oh God, someone just invoked your name... " I laughed for some time.

She left having a good time, with good memories and was eager to share all of her stories.....something about shooting a non-existent target #5?!? and I am glad to she that she was encouraged, and not turned off. This is why I trusted Chris.
