Going through my stuff......please feel free to use/abuse the following files.

-The Match Command book is in Word format, to be edited as locally needed. That's all the Range Officer commands, to include the safety brief, as per 2014 CMP rules. Its what I use at my matches.

-The M1 Grease Points...that is self explanatory (OK, apply grease to these points), but right outta the field manual of the day. Grease. Not Teflon impregnated silicone CLP 3-in-1 WD-40 oil. (Personally, I use Lubraplate 130A, the stuff that was spec'ed out for the Garand in WWII.)

-CMP Game Rules: The official 2014 rule book, for those interested in the specifics of what makes a 'service' rifle vs 'match' rifle etc...

Random comment on greasing an M1 Garand: I thought I read that in Korea some guys were having issues with their Garands not functioning correctly in the extreme cold, and that they'd have to run them with less grease. We've had some pretty freaking cold winter matches at the GCL. Has anyone had any issues with their Garand in the cold?

I'm not a Garand shooter, but just curious so I thought I'd ask.

Germans had same problem on the Eastern Front.....its what happens when you make a finely crafted weapon with tight tolerances. Grease certainly can freeze, but I have never had mine fail to function due to cold.....maybe because it stays home on those days (?)

I've heard of freezing condensation (from repeatedly taking inside/outside) jamming actions up, though.
