The Black Coyote Service Rifle Team will be invading Reade Range in Altoona, PA this Saturday for a 3 x 600 yard match. In this match you shoot 3 strings of 20 rounds each with 20 minutes per string. Competitors use service rifles, match, Palma, and F-Class rifles in 224 to 30 cal. This is a great style of match to learn how to shoot distance and if anyone would like to consider going down, just let me know and Warfab and I can answer your question.

Do they run this match often? Sounds like it would be fun but I've got other commitments next weekend.

Just when I was starting to feel confident about my 600 yard shooting, the wind picked up. Things got ugly on the third string.

Reade range is pleasant for the people working pit duty, but not so nice for the shooters once the wind picks up. I'm convinced that the wind at Reade is more difficult than Perry. Overall it was a great time with gorgeous weather.
