  • Rigging the USGI web sling

Came across this while looking for a refresher on how to rig my sling:

Beer is like porn, you can buy it but it's more fun to make your own

I have to bend over too far

    I get a boner.

bareback every couple of days, GTG. Bareback, brokeback, same $hit!

I joined a support group to help me deal with my social anxiety but I just can't seem to work up the nerve to go to a meeting......

Join a few forums and keep your eyes peeled, I picked up my '44 from a guy on RMNF (http://russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com) for $650 shipped. CMP has service grades (good to very good) for $695, be patient and save your pennies.

Will do. Just saw a guy over at the other place has a "correct" grade for $2200.

It's a great site but they are "preservationists" and don't take kindly to any talk of modification, sporterizing, etc. You need to check out Yooper Johns to learn about SKS (http://www.yooperj.com/) click the "SKS" link on the left side.

TH, that's a great post, thanks! The configuration shown is the classic WWII sniper configuration for the "as issued" cotton sling and is the best rig over Hasty rig. It's tough on group shooting though as the sling cinches tight above the bicep and you can see significant post jump with each heart beat. I use this rig on my slug gun for deer. My hunting buddies laugh their nuts off but my deer fall down right where I whack them!

I've only used a web sling in the SAFS at Perry and I was surprised how much I liked it. I didn't have any issues with it cinching too tightly on my bicep despite the basic setup I was using.

Knocked the spindle out of the scoring disk at least once.

We used that in boot camp...... yup it cinched down hard and was basically a tourniquet and they would not let us loosen up while "snapping in" which was basically get in shooting position on concrete slab and stay there dry firing for a long time.
