I would like to add another 10/22 or two back into my arsenal. I built 2 in the past and they came out really nice and shot well. Would you build 1 really nice rig or buy 2 factory ones? I'm looking at building a sweet setup with a tactical solutions x-ring receiver and green mountain barrel. It's like $850 complete without optic. Or would you opt to buy a factory ruger target model and a takedown to plink with for the same coin?

I hope this isn't taken badly but if you have a couple 10/22s already (which everyone should own) Id set your sights higher... Nice bolt action. Maybe CZ... Maybe Cooper of Montana, LOL...
My next 22 is not going to be a 10/22. Sorry if that hurts but its the truth.

Lol @ cooper firearms. They are really nice but I cannot afford guns like that.
What's wrong with the 10/22? It's a great gun. The custom 10/22's you can build/buy can be really nice.Last edited by Wildman; 11-21-2014, 08:58 PM.They can't stop us let them try. For heavy metal we will die!!!

Sounds like you want a custom built one again so go with that instead of the 2 factory ones because you can get those later.www.AvidArms.com I'm STIHL out of conditioner!!

Ok...I made a decision. Total 180 from the original plan but probably the smartest in the end. Decided to buy another case of 223 while it is really cheap at $269 a case for brass case. So now I have 3 cases on the way to keep me shooting for awhile and not have to worry about the new ammo crap that's looming over our heads.
As for the 10/22 I have decided on a factory model and only getting 1 for now. I'm going to go with their LVT model. It's a varmint/target model with the factory target trigger. I have heard good things about them and will give me a good platform to upgrade things in the future but get me back into a target ready model. With the rest of my money I will be buying a few thousand rounds of 22lr to replenish my stash. Yes 10 cents a round seems expensive and it is after what we have been paying for the last few years but in the grand scheme of things its not terrible. Even at 10 cents a round it is still almost 2/3 the price of 223. When you think about it that way its not so bad. Buying a few thousand 22lr will bring my stash back up to around the 30kish range which is healthy and makes me feel good.
So not really the direction I wanted to go in but in the end its the smarter direction. I get a gun i want and will give me a future project and also add to my ammo stash since im sure real soon the BS will begin and we wont be able to buy any in this state. I know I wont be buying any once the BGC comes into effect. They can't stop us let them try. For heavy metal we will die!!!
