  • Great deal on a ER Shaw barrel

Went to the sportsman and outdoors show in Harrisburg PA last week, picked up an ER Shaw bull barrel for a 10/22 from the ER Shaw vendor for $50.00. Asked why so cheap, vendor said they had ten blued barrel as a production over run and wanted them gone, in hindsight I wish I bought more to sell on eBay. Stopped at cabela's with a few gift cards that were hoarded for a while to by a stock and scope for the 10/22 build, waited a half hour to see the Nikon scope I wanted and was told they were out of stock, maybe I will mail order them. Any suggestions on a decent trigger that won't break the bank???
    I'm confused!!!!!

I have an ER Shaw. It's a nice barrel.

KIDD and Timney make great 10/22 triggers but they can cost as much as a 10/22 LOL. Not sure what you mean by break the bank. I think they're in the $175 - $275 range depending on feature. I'm going to put the KIDD group on my 10/22 build next. For the Kid, LOL...

Dang... I would have loved a 10/22 bull barrel for $50!

That is a NICE looking bunch of meat!

I can still find a use for my thumb, even though it no longer has a hole to finger.

I could have been enjoying his nuts.

I have a Ruger BX trigger group that breaks at 2.5-3 pounds. It's great for the money. On my custom rig I have a Rimfire Technologies trigger, torsion spring and a Kidd disconnect, hammer and sear. You can also do your own trigger job which is easy. Rimfire Central Forum is a great resource on the subject.

Any regrets with the ruger BX? Was going to go that route to keep the cost of another non-essential build but it looked a little cheesy, mostly plastic and so on, not looking to dump a lot of dough into another safe queen, LOL

The housing is plastic but so are all new Ruger trigger housings. The trigger blade is plastic also but the rest of the internals are metal. I tried to change the trigger with a metal one but it was too wide and didn't want to mess with things to make it fit. It really is a good deal for what you get. Even a drop in trigger and sear kit needs some fitting and you can have issues with the safety not engaging properly after install that can be fixed but it can be a pain in the ass. It might look cheesy but once its in the rifle it looks like any other 10/22 would.

Recently put a new 10/22 sporter match rifle together. I put the BX trigger pack in and I am very impressed. For a $75 trigger pack it's worth it!
