  • Lunchtime range report, my 10/22 takedown

So I ran over to Niagara Gun Range on lunch to zero my 10/22 with my cheapo 4x scope on it. 4 rounds of 20 each target. First one was to get it zeroed, second to confirm, 3 and 4 were for fun. Pic is a 6" shoot n see at 50 yards. Shot cci sv. First target was all over the place til I dialed it in. 2nd was better. 3rd was perfect through 16 rounds when I took some hot brass to the neck, last 4 rounds were all off target and on the paper. Settled down on last target and hit all 20 on target.I'd say the scope is dialed in, now just need to improve my fundamentals. Had the place to myself, but interestingly enough, the attendant came in and did busy work the whole time I was there. Wondered if what happened at the firing pin has made them rethink people being alone at their range.

Thanks, but that should be a much tighter group at 50 yards. Hopefully with some work I'll get there.

Groups will tighten up once with some more range time. I love my 10/22.

If you were going to pull a repeat of the Firing Pin, I'd want something a little more effective than a .22

Yeah. Just found it odd he chose to be in there at the same time.

A better trigger even a Ruger BX trigger will shrink those groups 100%. Did you test how well it holds zero after you break it down and reassemble it?

Nope, that for the next range trip. Wanted to do it with a cold barrell.
