,22LR Pistol, which one?

I'm in need of a .22LR pistol. My club has its annual coupon shoot coming up. The handgun of choice is a .22. Last year I think I was the only one to shoot the competition with both a .40 S&W and a .38spl. The cost for me to shoot the entire competition was in the neighborhood of $150. Everyone else who shot .22LR spent about $25. Just from a cost perspective I'll save enough on ammo in two years of this shoot to virtually pay for the gun.

I'm looking for input about the best choice for this platform.

I was thinking about these:

Browning Buck Mark (either .5.5" or 7.25")
Beretta U22 Neos 6.0

Any help would be uber useful.

Iron sights competition? The CMP just added an iron sights rimfire pistol competition category. I LOVE my military High Standard.

Ruger Mark iii target or hunter
Ruger 22/45 target ?? (not real keen on it)
S&W 41 (bit more $ than I'm ready for)
High Standard would be nice, but I've never purchased a used gun before. Not sure of my grading ability.

I have a nice Ruger Mark ll and a Single Six Convertible that I like! But I really like my Browning Buckman Contour the best!

A Ruger with a Burris Fast Fire on the other forum. The Fast Fire is an awesome sight, not your typical red dot sight, you would be happy with this set up and a decent price, Do It.

Thanks CG & SJ. Just a plethora of positive reviews everywhere you look. Can't imagine 10's of thousands being totally off the mark.

If you use a quality spray cleaner for guns (your choice) and a light coating of oil, you shouldn't have to tear it down for quite some time. Just use common sense and stay away from automotive cleaners and pay attention to detail. Some guy like to use a little air pressure (little 30psi or less) blowing down through the ejection port out the mag well, the same to blow excess oil out when lubricating it Also get a thumb saver mag loader or a uplula (how ever you spell it), money well spent to save your thumb.

hh, I've been successfully using Frog Lube for a couple of years. Do you have any experience with it? Recommended or not on the MKiii?

Nice MS. I was doing the same gandering this week for a new .22 pistola...trying to keep it under 300 we where most likely looking at same 4 pistols LOL..i aaaaalmost went with the neos, but landed up choosing a Chiappa/Legacy 1911-22 cause I never had a 1911..even it's not truly a real version, for 225$ beeens 4 magazines and 2 types of grips..one walnut and the other black/silver swirly pearl..it makes me happy..paid more for Crimson Traces then this whole enchilada of equipment. I only wanted it for 22 plinking, kinda getting bored of my other cals and not rich sooo this will be my new joy.
