not sure i could choose a favorite, i think 22's are the basis of the shooting industry. my guess is that at least 80% of people get started on a 22. i have several 22's and it's nice to go grab one you haven't shot in a while and revisit the reason why you bought it in the first place. last week went and shot with a friend so i took an old pump 22 from the 50's. a fine looking gun of blued steel and walnut that shot as well as it looked. we hit the steel plate most of the time @ 65 yards. if we missed it was the jerks on the trigger not the gun. the really surprising thing is that over the life of 22's there really haven't been that many real "dogs" in the market. most lived up to what they were meant to do. so it really is hard to choose a favorite.

My favorite is my Ruger 77/22! I got it about 4 years ago from a LGS that had it for quiet awhile, He was asking $450.00 took $400.00 then I put a Shilen factory contour barrel on it ( It shot good with the factory barrel but I to improve it) she also wears a Weaver T-24 scope. This is the rifle that I shoot Sporter Class Benchrest at Pine Tree Rifle Club. I have a Boyds thumbhole stock to put back on her, but I have to do a little work on the barrel channel. The target below was shoot at 50 yards with CCI-SV.
