OK ... so where and which NYSP needs to see this stock? How long before they decide to say it's illegal? I'm very hesitant to even bring this one in because it will open the door to "target stocks" being added to the list. I get what you're saying, but again, I don't know who to bring pictures to and I'm certainly not going to wait for weeks, months, years or eternity to find out. I need to have this rifle ready in 7 days now. Do you think I can bring it to any NYSP station to get my answer? Do you think they'll put it in writing? Or .... do you think they will forward it to the princess to let him decide?? The reason I'm posting here is because you all have knowledge of firearms. The lawmakers do not.

I think you can get an answer at the NY Gun forum. I hear those guys are Cracker Jack when it comes to complying with unconstitutional laws. There's probably a few Canadians at NYF that can help as well.

No need. I said screw it and brought a picture to a NYSP barrack and was told "The only way to get a definite answer as to what is allowed and passes as acceptable can and will only be determined by a judge in a court of law. The NYSP don't have the power to deem what is acceptable as we're here to enforce laws. Not to make personal interpretations.". I asked about what he thought of it on a personal level and he said he saw no problem with it as there is no "hole" for it to be a thumb through and there is no adjustment or folding to the stock. He also said there's no guarantee on what another LEO will think as in his view, the law is politically biased in how it's enforced. I think I found one heck of a NYSP officer who sees things for what they are. I'm ordering this stock tomorrow.

Norm .. you were right. I took your advice and although I couldn't get anything in writing, the above is at the least a very reassuring thing.

yes it is technically legal. No pistol grip and no thumbhole up their butts so is ok.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance
