I reload 9, 40 and 45 on a Hornady LNL Progressive, 223 on a Lee turret, sometimes the LNL and 243 and 308 on a Lee single stage

I was looking at the stack on bench for around $110. That'll do for now, I suppose.

Making a bench takes 1hr with precut 4x4 and some boards that can be cut for you at the hardware store.
Go to lowes and tell them the cuts and with long screws or decking screws you will have a bench that will take the weight of your car.
That si what you want a sturdy heavy duty cheap to make bench. If you need some ideas I can give you a blue print. I even have
those for the lathes. They are perfectly leveled and do not move one hair with press work.
Save money and time and forget about chinese cheapo kits.

That is good idea. It is actually much easier to build a bad azz bench using 4x4 legs and cuts of solid boards than to make anything else. you want long bad screws and thick pieces all squared
and that thing will not budge. I have done several like this some bolted to the wall too. Whether it is a work bench or a press you want rigidity. don't put presses in puzzy kitchen or study tables and go directly to the heavy lumber. In the end they are cheap and much better than anything else. if you want add some shelves later or some drawers that sometimes you find by the curve
and all you ahve to do is to build a couple of rails out of scrap wood too. For the press take one section of those heavy boards and put some mean bolts and then have that piece either bolted
to the bench or clamped but also somethign you can take and clamp at the rrange to work on reloads for example with a small single press.

Once agaim, you want something rigid and a great way is with some inexpensive 4x4 and decking boar d. With one of each you have enough material to put a nice bad azz heavy bench. If you want they even cut the pieces for you at the store fir convenience and easy transport. Grag some long screws and there you have it an inexpensive kit that will not budge with anything. For shelving you can add a few rough cuts or bolt one of those cheap deals that fits with your design. In one of mine I also used some nice drawers that were going to the trash. Better than anything new I can buy.

Btw what is the size area? I can tell you a simple way to make one.

I mounted 3/8 steel plates under my presses to give the bench more strength and avoid flexing.
