I don't mean to sound insensitive but here's my thoughts. How many mass shootings do we see happening where the shooter is killed? More often than not these shooters go into their rage killing others with the full knowledge that they aren't walking away from it. Some even leave notes behind.
I've always said these murders were cowards and would do us all a service if they would just kill the last person first, themselves. The person at Bergen did just that. The sad part is the public location they chose.
Too bad there wasn't anyone who noticed or recognized the warning signs. This person might have been able to get help.
It's a sad story for sure. I attended the funeral of a good friend just last week who ended his life with a firearm. No one saw the signs, he asked no one for help. That's all too often the case.
I think that suicide is more popular in developed countries because we are too disconnected from reality.
We became fat and complacent and we insulate ourselves from all the problems of the world thinking we have a shield.
So when trouble strikes we are at a loss and we think it is the end of the world.
In other places in earth where huge problems have been always there people learn from early age that there is only one way moving forward that is to fight.
It is a shame when people demanding tolerance, have no tolerance
Permanent solution to temporary problems, prayers are with those who are left behind, some one doing that increases odds of those who loved them to do the same.

The gist is that even the poorest Americans are well above the midpoint of income globally. We oftentimes don't realize how good we have it.
Now for my political statement....
Of course the politicians realize that nothing can be done to address the mental illness issues so they attack the inanimate object used to perform the deed.
