    2015 Coupon Shoot

Just registered tonight with Alistair. Had a great time. Much different this year than last year for me. Last year I didn't have a .22 handgun. I shot a .40 and .38spl. Not only was it expensive but it just wasn't nearly as much fun because of my lessened accuracy at 16.5yds.

The way the coupon shoot works is this:

    - Three 10 shot rounds equal one session.
    - one round of 10 shots slow fire in :60
    - one round of 10 shots timed fire broken down to two 5 shot rounds in :20 each.
    - one round of 10 shots rapid fire broken down to two 5 shot rounds in :15 each.

Max score for each 10 shot target is 100 points. Total of 300 points for the session.
10 sessions equals one complete coupon shoot and qualifies you for the raffle at the end. Every participant will receive a raffle prize. Last year there were 17 guns in the drawing. I was the 18th ticket drawn I missed the guns. I selected a nano safe. Not a bad prize IMO

Anyway, tonight, shooting with my new Ruger Mark III my accuracy was infinitely better. I shot two sessions and scored 297/300 and 294/300. I had one perfect score of 100, all 10 were in the X. Very stoked for the next session, probably Tuesday.

I want a gun in this year's drawing!

Sounds mighty cool. I probably would have left waiting for the first few people to shoot off 10 rounds in 60sec...sheeeesh

It was like an eternity. Everyone was done shooting in about :20-:30 max. We all had to stand around and wait. All electronically timed, automated carrier. Not much for the RO to do other than press start.

In that case, I wouldn't doubt next shoot or so, the 60 will become 45, specially if you all were on the same page waiting around..

I don't think so. This format has been used for over a decade with no change. I believe they follow some standard.

It's funny. When the targets turn on the slow fire round of :60 I take my breath, slow exhale, intake my next breath, 1/2 exhale and some of the guys are virtually done with their 10 shots before I squeeze off my first shot. They didn't score nearly as high as you might think they would.

:60 is a long time for 10 shots.
