I need to look closer at ME and NH. assuming the permit means you can carry concealed.

Yes to CCW. Both are by mail. NH is a one page form with copy of NY permit. ME is more questions, background check, photo, finger prints and if I recall proof of citizenship and safety class. I think I posted thread with all of the particulars. Both were easy to get but ME required more leg work. Believe you do not need permit in NH unless you are carrying concealed but check that. Not sure about ME.

EDIT - this is a specific response to Celt. NH gives you PA (as far as I know do your own homework). It does not give you NY, CT or ME.

yeah, i thought about NH... it is easy, but its 100 bucks for 4 years, and I believe the renewel is also 100 bucks.... If i knew I had some travel coming up soon id probably get it, but I dont have any current plans to travel and I cant justify having to spend 100 bucks every 4 years... now, if im mistaken about the renewels being 100 bucks, and they were only 25 (or something like that), then id be more inclined to get it now and be done with it.

when I got my ME permit, i did so because it covered me in PA... but in August of 13, PA changed their status in regards to honoring ME non resident permits... bunch of bs..

what we really need is national reciprocity already... its freaking ridiculous that we have to get all these non resident permits.

this is a good resource and has the updates that certain states have made.
