  • Suggestions about restrictions

I filed an ammendment to my permit in Nov. 2013 to have my restrictions removed here in Ulster Co. Finally got a letter a few days ago to go meet with Judge Gilpatric in January. I'm looking for any suggestions on what to say to him, or if anyone here has gone through this process here.
He issued my permit about 3 1/2 years ago, and when I met with him back then, he told me to file to remove restrictions after a year. Obviously I waited a bit longer than that.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Politicians are like diapers. They both need to be changed often, and for the same reason.

I have to say no suggestions necessary..I say your fine. Gilpatric issued mine No Restrictions in the late 2000s, I am actually surprised you had any restriction in Ulster..but I say your fine going back to him, especially when you have the ammo of telling him "you issued it and told me a year, i have waited 4 and have had 4 extra years of training, use, and understanding of safety"..
    DONE DEAL. lol

If you have had any formal training it couldn't hurt to bring it up as well.

yep. Over a year, actually. It was so long, I had forgotten about it.

Good luck. Here in the Gulag known as Saratoga County they don't believe anyone but LE should carry unrestricted.

It means that you can carry anywhere it is legal to do so.

My permit has two restrictions: Hunting/Target. That's it.

Actually, your permit has infinite restrictions and only two permissions, Hunting/Target.

                        Doesn't matter... they have LEOSA.

"If a person meets the criteria, then "notwithstanding any other provision of the law of any State or any political subdivision thereof", he or she may carry a concealed firearm that has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce, in any state or political subdivision thereof.[1][n 1] As a result, an individual who qualifies under LEOSA does not require a state-issued permit for carrying a concealed firearm in any state, including that person's home state."
