  • Transfer from NYS individual to FFL in TX.

Ok guys. I have not done this in a long time but it is my understanding that one can sell a firearm to a FFL in TX w/o the need to go to a FFL in NY right.
Basically package the firearm well and include a copy of the bill of sale, driver license and have a copy of the FFL and address where you have to ship it.
So then go to USPS and ship as firearm with tracing and insurance right?
This is for Darth so he can get this rifle sold and shipped and he can go see the heart doctor in Boston.

Or this whole thing changed with the PePeshittata SAFE?

I would ask the FFL, you can ship firearms out of state still as that would be interstate commerce. As far as what to include in shipment the FFL your shipping too would know what they need.

Thanks. In the past I included a copy of the FFL they sent me, a copy of my driver license and a copy of the Bill of Sale that is something optional but I like to have with the serial nr.
I kept copies of everything with me too.

We will ask the FFL in TX but initially darth can package the gun, include the papers and just head to the USPS right? ...It has been so long I don't remember.

I will call the LGS. they have been doing it for me the last few years and didn't charge me even for the shpping many times because I am buying so much stuff in the store they give me things to keep me coming... those bastards!! LOL.

You, sir are correct. Even if you sell to an individual, it just has to be shipped to an FFL. Done it many times. A couple of pictures before shipping wouldn't hurt if you ever had to make a claim
I must say I love beavers.

ok thanks. Oh yeah some close up pictures, I forgot. But I always make a few close ups in case I have to claim insurance. I think last time the pa cage was $30 with a nice insurance so it should not be so bad.
thaks for your prompt feedback. I think we sold darths rifle so he can go see the doc.

Thanks so much Meke for helping me out on getting my rifle sold, well it is not final yet but as of right now from what Meke has told me the guy is buying my rifle..

Like Meke has mentioned we need to make double sure what I need to do first and what is needed before the rifle is to be shipped by USPS..

And what I need to say and do when I do get to the USPS..

Meke I can not Thank You enough so I have to say Thank You Again for everything you are doing to help me..

I could probably could get away with a 52 inch shaft but if I could get a 54 inch shaft that would be great as I could always adjust the length of the shaft
