  • Loctite or Rocksett

Like the title says, looking for opinions for what to use on my latest build: gas block set screws... red Loctite or Rocksett?

Loctite: We all know it works, non-water soluble, however barrel heat COULD potentially reach 450 degrees and weaken the bond
Rocksett: Super high heat tolerance, however it IS water soluble (not that I would be submerging the weapon but you never know)

    What do you guys think?

Hey, welcome to the forum. I've used blue locktite on my builds. Red is kinda permanent. Don't have any experience with Rocksett.

I would go with blue loctite. I don't use anything on my gas block set screws and never had any issues with them loosening up.
I bought my sons out of state.

Really... is there a torque value for the screws or just "snug?"

How about knurled cup set screws? They are considered locking and should only be used on metals with hardness up to RC 30 max.
